Paul Giraud Héritage (60 Years) is the oldest and most significant Cognac produced by the Paul Giraud family estate in Bouteville, bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml bottle. A rare blend crafted exclusively from the 1945, 1946 and 1947 vintages — the immediate post-war harvests, distilled to commemorate renewal and resilience — it has matured quietly in the family's humid Limousin oak cellars for around 60 years. Old-gold amber with copper highlights, it delivers profound rancio, walnut, coffee and leather character, awarded a Silver Medal at the Concours des Vignerons Indépendants 2012 and rated 94/100 by Cognac-Expert's own tasting panel — a Cognac to be enjoyed religiously, with all due respect to a lady of 70 years.

Nose: A refined bouquet rich in rancio, clove, sandalwood, red pepper and vanilla, evoking both strength and elegance, with exacerbated aromas of oxidation so characteristic of very old Cognacs.
Palate: Complex and full-bodied, with warming walnut, coffee, speculoos, plum liqueur, leather and precious woods — a rare, almost beeswax-furniture or old-walnut-oil character that only appears after decades of ageing, also found in the finest old Porto, Sherry and Maury.
Finish: Smooth, savoury and remarkably enduring, with blond tobacco, blackberry preserve and orange blossom carrying an exceptionally long, complex close.
Cognac Paul Giraud is a family-owned estate in Bouteville, in the heart of Grande Champagne, with winegrowing roots tracing back to around 1650 — nearly four centuries of continuous family stewardship. Paul Jean Giraud, born in 1952, represents the 10th generation to lead the domain, having founded the modern Cognac Paul Giraud brand alongside his father in 1975. The estate's vineyards sit entirely within Grande Champagne, Cognac's classified Premier Cru, in the shadow of the historic Château of Montmorency-Bouteville, and Paul Giraud is widely regarded by specialists as one of the finest representatives of authentic, single-vintage Grande Champagne Cognac, producing a range spanning from 6-year to 60-year-old releases.
Héritage is one of only two blends in the entire Paul Giraud range — alongside the ultra-rare Noblesse — and the estate itself says it must be "classified separately, both aromatically and historically" from the rest of the portfolio. It's built exclusively from the 1945, 1946 and 1947 vintages, harvests distilled in the immediate aftermath of World War II, giving this Cognac genuine historical weight as a deliberate commemoration of renewal and resilience rather than simply "old stock." Sixty years of continuous ageing in the family's humid Limousin oak cellars has pushed the eaux-de-vie to what the estate calls "the paroxysm of oxidation" — the point where fresh fruit character gives way entirely to almond, kernel and profound rancio notes unique to Cognacs of truly advanced age. That quality has been formally recognised, winning a Silver Medal at the Concours des Vignerons Indépendants 2012 and scoring 94/100 from Cognac-Expert's independent tasting panel. Made from hand-harvested Ugni Blanc, distilled in small pot stills with no additives, colouring, chemicals or pesticides, it's presented in a classic Cognac-style bottle encased in a wooden gift box. A genuine museum-piece for the most serious Cognac collectors — a tangible taste of post-war Grande Champagne history.
