Paul Giraud Cognac Très Rare 58 Years — Quadro Carafe is an exceptional, drawn from the remarkable 1962 harvest, Grande Champagne expression from the Paul Giraud family estate in Bouteville, bottled at 40% ABV in a 700ml bottle. Patiently matured for decades, it has developed extraordinary finesse, richness and complexity while preserving the distinctive character of its vintage and terroir. Presented in an elegant Quadro crystal-style carafe housed in a premium wooden presentation box, this is a prestigious, penultimate expression in the Paul Giraud range — rich, powerful, intense and complex, and a must for full-bodied cigar lovers.

Nose: The very start of tasting brings a surprising force of pepper and clove spice, immediately blending into leather and cigar box aromas, followed by fruity notes of prune, candied orange peel and dried apricot.
Palate: Rich and velvety, with dried fruits, roasted hazelnuts, cocoa, mature oak, honey, polished oak and gentle spice, beautifully integrated with deep rancio.
Finish: Exceptionally diverse — sommeliers describe it as "la queue de Paon" (the peacock's tail) on the palate, a poetic way of saying every part of your palate is engaged at once, with the characteristic length and melted, confit intensity of a great aged Grande Champagne.
Cognac Paul Giraud is a family-owned estate in Bouteville, in the heart of Grande Champagne, with winegrowing roots tracing back to around 1650 — nearly four centuries of continuous family stewardship. Paul Jean Giraud, born in 1952, represents the 10th generation to lead the domain, having founded the modern Cognac Paul Giraud brand alongside his father in 1975. The estate's vineyards sit entirely within Grande Champagne, Cognac's classified Premier Cru, in the shadow of the historic Château of Montmorency-Bouteville, and Paul Giraud is widely regarded by specialists as one of the finest representatives of authentic, single-vintage Grande Champagne Cognac, producing a range spanning from 6-year to 60-year-old releases.
Très Rare sits as the penultimate stage in Paul Giraud's own "journey through time and aromas" — one step below the estate's ultimate Noblesse release, and built to showcase Grande Champagne at the absolute top of its art. Drawn from the remarkable 1962 harvest and matured for 58 years, it carries genuine spice-driven power and intensity at the opening, evolving into leather, tobacco and the same stone-fruit character found in the estate's Vieille Réserve, but pushed further into confit, oxidised territory by decades of additional ageing. The Giraud family has cultivated the same Bouteville vineyards in Grande Champagne, Cognac's classified Premier Cru, since 1635, and a Cognac of this age represents a genuinely rare, tangible link to that history — the estate's own tasting notes explicitly reserve it "for connoisseurs" given its remarkable intensity and complexity. Presented in an elegant Quadro crystal-style carafe in a premium wooden presentation box, it's a serious collector's piece and a memorable choice for milestone celebrations — best paired with a full-bodied cigar, exactly as the estate itself recommends.
