Archie Rose is a pioneering Sydney distillery celebrated for its innovative small-batch spirits and use of high-quality native ingredients.

This is a genuine creative collaboration rather than a simple label tie-in — Horisumi painted each intricate artwork entirely on his own, months before Archie Rose's team ever touched a still, and the distillers then worked backwards from the mood, colour and symbolism of the artwork to build a matching flavour profile, including well-documented false starts (a disastrous sake experiment "tasted like alcoholic Panadol," and cherry blossom infusion turned out too bitter to use). The included artwork print captures the full four-panel narrative exactly as Forreal conceived it: a koi fish and chrysanthemum for Autumn, a falcon perched beneath Mount Fuji for Winter, a sleeping rabbit beneath cherry blossoms for Spring, and a serpent coiled through peony blooms for Summer — each panel a genuine piece of Irezumi tattoo artistry, signed by Kian Forreal. That level of craft was formally recognised too: the Autumn release alone won Best Innovation at the Australian Drinks Awards, a Gold Medal for Packaging Design at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and Silver medals at both the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition and Global Gin Masters in London, while Winter added a further Silver in New York. Each release was capped at a single batch — once sold out, gone permanently — making a complete, matched set of all four bottles genuinely difficult to find today.
