The Delord Épopée 130th Anniversary Armagnac is an extraordinary commemorative blend from Maison Delord in Lannepax, Gascony, France, bottled at 43% ABV in a 700ml bottle. Created to mark 130 years of the house, it's built from five extraordinary vintages — one selected to represent each generation of Delord family distillers: 1900 (a 123-year-old Armagnac from founder Prosper Delord), 1938 (Gaston and Georges), 1973 and 1974 (Jacques and Pierre), and 2004 (current generation Jérôme and Sylvain). A genuine, once-in-a-generation blend, it offers rancio and spice, dried fruit, dried florals and woody aromas, and gourmand vanilla and cocoa, layered across 130 years of Delord craftsmanship in a single bottle.

Maison Delord is a family-owned Armagnac house founded in 1893 by Prosper Delord in Lannepax, in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, Gascony. Now run by the fourth generation of the family — Jérôme and Sylvain Delord, under the guidance of their father Jacques — the estate grows all four traditional Armagnac grape varieties across 45 hectares and 11 parcels, and distills using both traditional continuous stills and double distillation. Delord's cellars hold over 700 oak barrels and more than 1,400 vintages dating back to the early 20th century, with the oldest kept in a room the family calls "Le Paradis." Épopée stands as the definitive expression of that multi-generational legacy, marking 130 years since Prosper Delord first earned recognition for his craft.
This is a genuinely rare concept in spirits: rather than a standard age-statement blend, Delord selected one specific vintage to represent each generation of the family that has run the house since 1893 — including a 123-year-old Armagnac distilled in 1900 by founder Prosper Delord himself, drawn from the family's most treasured reserves kept in a cellar room they call "Le Paradis," away from the light. As Jérôme Delord puts it, the release marks the family's place in Armagnac history "just as my grandfather did in his time," while Master Blender Sylvain Delord calls it "an aromatic journey through the craftsmanship of four generations." Delord has earned recognition for excellence since its very first year — Prosper Delord won the Agricultural Contest Medal in 1893 — and 130 years later, this blend stands as the house's definitive anniversary statement, assembled entirely from the family's own historic reserves rather than newly sourced material. With genuinely irreplaceable components (the 1900 vintage alone cannot be recreated), this is a serious, museum-piece purchase for the most dedicated Armagnac collectors — a tangible piece of 130 years of Gascon distilling history in a single bottle.
