Fiorente is produced by Distillerie Francoli, a family-owned distillery in Ghemme, Piemonte, under the Italian Alps, with roots tracing back to 1875, when Luigi Guglielmo Francoli produced the family's first grappa in the mountain village of Campodolcino. The modern company was formally established in Ghemme in 1951 and remains owned by the Francoli family five generations later, now producing grappa, liqueurs, wine and other spirits under the wider Gruppo Francoli. Fiorente takes its name from Flora, the Roman goddess of flowers and spring, honoured in the ancient Floralia festival — a tribute the brand carries forward through its own celebration of Italy's aperitivo culture. Distillerie Francoli was the first distillery in Italy to be officially certified carbon-neutral by Lifegate, reflecting a genuine, long-standing commitment to sustainable production.

Fiorente holds a genuine "first" in its category — launched in June 2014, it was the first international brand of Italian elderflower liqueur, distinct from the more commonly known French and German versions that dominate the space. The Francoli family has been distilling since 1875, when Luigi Guglielmo Francoli produced the family's first grappa in the mountain village of Campodolcino, and the modern company, based in Ghemme since 1951, remains family-owned five generations later.
