This is the third collaboration between Lark and Frogmore Creek, two neighbouring Tasmanian producers who've built a track record of genuinely inventive cask exchanges. The finishing casks are Frogmore Creek's ex-Ruby Pinot Noir fortified wine barrels — always a non-vintage blend made using the Solera method, so no two batches of the source wine are ever quite the same, giving each Lark Ruby Pinot release its own subtle character. With only 2,400 bottles produced in the standard run and this smaller 100ml format ideal for tasting or gifting without committing to a full bottle, it's a low-risk way to try one of Tasmania's most collaborative and experimental whisky releases. Lark is also historically significant in its own right, having been the first Australian distillery to produce single malt spirit in over 150 years when it launched in 1992.
