Limonio is a Sicilian producer based in Partinico, in the province of Palermo, that has been producing and transforming citrus fruits for over 100 years. What sets Mandaretto apart is the specific mandarin variety at its heart — Tardivo di Ciaculli, a late-ripening, exclusive variety grown in the historic citrus-growing province of Palermo, prized for its intensely aromatic peel. Rather than using juice, Limonio infuses the peels directly in alcohol distilled from Sicilian wine grapes, a traditional technique that captures the full essential-oil character of the fruit rather than a simpler, juice-based sweetness.
