Henriot Brut Souverain NV

Henriot Brut Souverain is the signature expression of Maison Henriot, first crafted in 1808 by Apolline Henriot to showcase the true character of her vineyards. Believing that a single harvest could never reveal the full personality of the terroir, she began preserving reserve wines each year, using them to create a richer, more expressive blend. Today, the cuvée is composed of multiple crus, each adding its own layer of depth and maturity.

Cellar Master Alice Tétienne describes the wine as a graceful “ballet of aromas,” where inviting notes of pastry and bright citrus unfold into subtle smoky tones and a clean chalky minerality. The diverse crus contribute hints of stone fruit and red fruit, adding vibrant detail. On the palate, these flavours come together in a rounded, textural style, carried by a long, refreshing finish.

The blend brings together around 45% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Meunier, sourced from 29 carefully selected crus. Built on a base of the 2018 harvest, which makes up roughly 50–70% of the final wine, the cuvée is elevated by 30–50% reserve wines for added complexity. A minimum of three years of ageing allows the Champagne to develop its signature harmony, while a low dosage of under 6 g/L provides a refined balance of richness and freshness.
