The Macallan Concept Number 1 (2018 Release)
The first in the series, Concept No. 1 reimagines the maturation process by inverting traditional ageing. Whiskies were matured first in sherry-seasoned oak casks, then for an equal time in ex-bourbon casks, creating a layered profile of dried fruits, vanilla, and spice. Limited to 84,000 bottles worldwide. 700ml at 40% alc/vol.
The Macallan Concept Number 2 (2019 Release)
Concept No. 2 connects music and whisky, inspired by the dual passions of Whisky Maker Steven Bremner. Matured in sherry-seasoned American oak casks, Miguel Martin sherry casks, and ex-bourbon barrels, it delivers notes of vanilla, citrus, and toffee, balanced by warm spice and floral freshness. Limited to 100,000 bottles worldwide. 700ml at 40% alc/vol.
The Macallan Concept Number 3 (2020 Release)
The final edition, Concept No. 3, was created in collaboration with designer David Carson. This expression combines first-fill sherry butts with ex-bourbon barrels, refill casks, and virgin American oak, resulting in a rich whisky with sweetness, freshness, and layered spice. 700ml at 40.8% alc/vol.
