The 2021 Penfolds Grange is a landmark release marking the 71st consecutive vintage of Australia’s most iconic wine. Composed of 94% Shiraz and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, this vintage benefited from a "vintage of a lifetime" in South Australia, characterized by a cool spring and mild ripening conditions. The result is a Grange of immense power but surprising finesse, showing a more detailed and elegant profile than the muscular vintages of the recent past. Matured for 18 months in new American oak, it seamlessly integrates its signature opulence with a vibrant, cool-season acidity and finely sculpted tannins. While it offers an intriguing "whisper" of early development, it is built for extraordinary longevity, with a cellaring potential reaching well into the 2060s.
